Our Story

Born in Botswana.
Built for the continent.

Greats Industries was founded with a clear conviction: African businesses deserve software built specifically for African conditions — not Western platforms force-fitted to a different reality. We saw too many Botswana companies struggling with systems that did not understand local payment rails, could not handle variable connectivity, or required foreign currency subscriptions that made no financial sense.

We started by building tools for ourselves. Then for our network. Then for clients across Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa. Each project made us sharper — a deeper understanding of SADC trade corridors, mobile money integration, USSD state machines, and the compliance landscape that comes with operating in financial services.

Today, our products are live on four continents, processing thousands of transactions daily. The FreeTrader platform — our flagship product suite — manages commodity trade across SADC borders, runs loyalty programmes for multi-merchant coalitions, and powers enterprise CRM workflows for growing businesses. We are proud that every line of code was written in Gaborone.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Precision over guesswork

We invest heavily in discovery and specification before writing a single line of code. Every system we ship solves a clearly defined problem, nothing more and nothing less.

Local knowledge, global standards

We understand Botswana's mobile money rails, BURS compliance requirements, and the realities of variable connectivity. Our code meets international engineering standards.

Transparency at every stage

You see every sprint demo, every deployment, every decision. No black boxes, no surprises. We work in two-week cycles with written change requests and milestone-linked payments.

Ownership after delivery

We do not disappear after go-live. Every engagement includes post-launch support, documentation, and training so your team can operate independently if they choose to.

Our Process

How We Work

Every project follows the same six-phase process. No surprises, no scope creep, no ghost-mode development. You see progress at every step.

01

Discovery

We map your current workflows, identify the core pain points, and define the scope of the solution. This phase produces a written specification, wireframes, and a fixed-price proposal.

02

Architecture

We design the data model, API structure, and deployment architecture before writing application code. Good architecture is the cheapest form of quality assurance.

03

Build

Two-week sprints with demos at the end of each cycle. You see working software continuously — not a finished product six months later. Change requests are documented and costed as they arise.

04

Test & Harden

Automated tests, manual UAT sessions, security review, and load testing before any production deployment. We do not ship software we would not use ourselves.

05

Launch

Staged rollout — staging environment first, production second. We handle deployment, DNS, SSL, and monitoring setup. Staff training is included in every engagement.

06

Support

Post-launch support period included. After that, a maintenance retainer or full handover to your team — whichever suits your model. Documentation is a contractual deliverable, not an afterthought.
